The short version: we collect what we need to quote and fulfil your order, we never sell or share it with anyone, and marketing email only reaches you if you tick the box. No account is required to use this site.
This Privacy Policy explains what information ALS Surplus collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. The site is operated by Airport Lighting Systems, Inc. ("ALS Surplus", "we", "us").
ALS Surplus sells surplus airfield lighting equipment to airports, contractors and government agencies. This is a business-to-business catalog: the information we collect is the information needed to quote and fulfil an order.
ALS Surplus does not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share your information with any third party or other person.
We do not provide your details to data brokers, advertising networks, or other suppliers, and we do not use them for any purpose beyond responding to you and carrying out your order.
The only exceptions are the service providers who operate this site on our behalf — for example our web host and our email provider — who process data solely on our instructions in order to deliver the service, and any disclosure we are legally required to make.
When you submit a quote request: your name, company or organisation, email address, phone number, the items and quantities you requested, and anything you write in the message field.
When you contact us through the site: your name, email address, role and message.
When you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in to marketing email: your email address and the fact that you opted in.
Automatically, as with any website: standard server log information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited. This is used to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.
To prepare and send your quote, to answer your questions, and to fulfil and support any resulting order.
To keep the records our business and tax obligations require.
To send you marketing email, but only if you have opted in — see below.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you for advertising.
When you submit a quote request you may tick a box to receive occasional email from ALS Surplus about surplus stock, new arrivals and industry updates.
That box is never ticked for you, and opting in is never required in order to receive a quote. If you leave it unticked we will only contact you about your request.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Unsubscribing does not affect quotes, orders or support — we will still reply to you about those.
Quote and order records are kept for as long as our business and tax obligations require.
Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us to delete information we hold about you, and we will do so except where we are required to retain it. Requests go to [email protected].
The site is served over HTTPS and hosted on managed infrastructure with access limited to the people who maintain it.
No system is perfectly secure, but we do not ask for and do not store payment card details through this website. Orders are invoiced and paid outside the site.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any such email.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected] or calling (877) 421-3034.
You do not need an account to use this site, and we do not ask you to create one.
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect is the one published on this page at the time you use the site.
